Flora Food Group was honoured to take part in the Economic Ties Roundtable in Philadelphia, hosted by Governor Josh Shapiro and attended by Their Majesties King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima of the Netherlands, alongside a delegation of Dutch businesses with significant footprints in the United States.
The roundtable brought together leaders to strengthen bilateral cooperation, innovation and investment between the Netherlands and the United States.
Our Chief Corporate Affairs and Sustainability Officer, Herman Betten, represented Flora Food Group at the event. The discussion reflected the long-standing economic links between the two countries and the shared interest in building resilient, future-focused supply chains.
The United States is Flora Food Group’s largest market, and we are proud of the role we play in supporting American jobs and manufacturing. We operate two manufacturing facilities in Kansas, including the world’s largest spreads plant in New Century, and have recently invested $140 million in Hugoton, creating 125 jobs in a rural community.
Our Pennsylvania distribution hub is a key gateway for around one in five products we sell across the United States, helping to enable next-day delivery throughout the Northeast. These operations connect Dutch food science, developed at our Culinary Centre on the Wageningen Campus, with American consumers, workers and supply chains.
Brands such as Country Crock, I Can’t Believe It’s Not Butter, Imperial and Violife are present in millions of US households because of that connection. We thank the Kingdom of the Netherlands and the Office of Governor Shapiro for convening the roundtable.
